in 1990 this company has been collecting funds through recycling business. ERS ventured towards
the field of education and wanted a platform wherein the parents, students and the teachers could
interact with each other by posting homework assignments and other relevant information. Icreon
analyzed the various requirements of the company and provided the perfect solution by developing
Homework Site. |

organizations in the US, enrolled in this program. They recycle printer cartridges and used cell
phones and exchange them for contemporary classroom equipments. |

| Environment Reclamation Services were looking for an interactive platform for the teachers, parents
and students. This platform should be able to fulfill the following requirements: |

Provide a common stand for the process
of online transferring of homework assignments between
the teachers and students/parents |

A web based event centric interface wherein the teachers
can place valuable information about any educative event
that the teachers are planning for the students. |

| ERS required a solution to simplify the process of distribution and submission of homework between
teachers and students online. They wanted a framework wherein they could promote their already
existing website fundingfactory.com and thereby increase awareness among people about the
benefits of recycling. |

| Solutions to Bridge the Educational
Gap |
| Environment Reclamation Services were looking for a solution that would act as a bridge between
the teachers, students and their parents. An informative application that would be used by teachers
as well as students to post assignments as well as for the purpose of advertisement of any events
that were being planned by teachers. To adhere to all these requirements Icreon came up with the
following solution: |

Integration of a three-tier architecture
system to enable teachers, schools and parents/students
to manage the assignments posted on the application. |

Content Management System integrated in this web based
application makes it administrator friendly as the assignments
and the events on the web application can be updated regularly. |

Integration of User Role and Specific Access Levels
has made the web application right protected. The users
have been enabled with their own specific rights and can
access only particular levels of the application. |

| The parent/student module has been incorporated which
enables, parents/students to: |

Select the school, subjects and teachers. |
|
|
They can access the View Assignment module wherein new
assignments have been posted by the teacher of their choice. |
|
|
They get a customized view of the Calendar of Events,
that is, events of teachers (of their specific grade and
subjects) are displayed which keeps them updated on the
informative and educational events being organized by
their teachers. |

| The teacher’s module has been integrated to enable
the teachers in the following: |

Creating new classes with the help of Class Module. |
|
|
Posting the assignments for the students through the
Assignment module. |
|

They can post events into the Calendar of Events that
is displayed for each student/parent as per their subscription,
thus providing an interface to communicate and helping
them to keep a track of important events. |

Integration of a sub module of personal settings, known
as My Settings: where the teachers can add their own grades,
subjects and manage assignments. |
|
|
Integration of an advertising module enables the administrator
to post and control advertisements on the web application. |

| Summary |
The Environment Reclamation Services wanted a web based interface to organize and simplify the
process of assignment interchange. They wanted a customized solution for the purpose to cater to
students and teachers of variable classes and schools. The Homework site developed by us
provided a solution to all these aspects of online assignment submission.
The Homework site will empower the Environment Reclamation Services to achieve the goal of a better peoples network in order to spread the message of conserving the environment and will also be the perfect stand for a productive interaction between parents/students and teachers. |
